Top 3 Tips When Selling Your Home

Keep your emotions in check

It is important not to let emotions influence decisions when it comes time to list and sell your home.  There will be many emotions and memories if you have lived in the home for a while and raised your family there. It is time to stop considering the property your house and start looking at it as an investment.

Get Advice from a Professional Real Estate Agent

A professional agent will be familiar with the market and the recent sales in your area. They can offer guidance and advice to help you get top dollar for your property. They will manage all paperwork and once an offer has been received, they will negotiate for your interests. They will be available to answer any questions you may have and offer support through the sale process.

Do Quick Repairs

Before you list your home for sale, ensure everything is in good working order.  Your real estate agent will be able to help you decide what improvements and repairs are necessary. While I don’t recommend major renovations, there are quick fixes that you don’t want to draw the buyer’s attention to. You could fix loose tiles in your kitchen, replace leaky faucets, fix broken seals on windows, or refinish hardwood floors. Depending on your timing and budget you may decide to update your appliances, add new cabinet and door hardware and fresh paint.
